Cookie Policy

Effective: October 21, 2026 · Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains cookies and similar browser technologies in the custom Morsden Academy experience and the surrounding Shopify storefront.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small piece of information that a website or service asks a browser to store and send with later requests. Cookies can help maintain a session, remember a choice, or support a feature. Other technologies, such as local storage, pixels, and device identifiers, may serve related purposes even though they are not technically cookies.

A page can also process basic request information without using a cookie. For example, a server normally receives information needed to return a page or image. Disabling cookies therefore does not prevent every form of technical processing.

2. The custom website sections

The custom Morsden Academy sections use ordinary browser behavior for navigation, animations, expandable content, and the project enquiry form. Their code does not add advertising cookies, behavioral analytics cookies, marketing pixels, or advertising audience identifiers. The enquiry form uses Shopify’s native contact form service, which is part of the storefront platform.

Submitting an enquiry sends the entered contact and project information through Shopify. Platform features that support submission, session integrity, abuse prevention, or a security challenge may use cookies or similar technologies according to the storefront configuration. A successful confirmation is based on Shopify’s response. This processing supports the requested contact function rather than marketing profiling.

3. Shopify and the surrounding storefront

This website runs on Shopify. The platform, the active theme, merchant settings, and installed applications can use technologies independently of the custom sections. Depending on the configuration and the feature used, these may support storefront delivery, security, sessions, checkout, privacy choices, or other enabled functions.

The absence of tracking code inside a custom section is not a claim that the entire Shopify environment never uses cookies. A visitor who enters another platform feature may encounter a different technical process. The actual live configuration must remain consistent with the notices and controls presented.

4. Necessary technologies

Technologies classified as necessary are used for functions such as delivering a requested page, protecting a service, maintaining an essential session, or recording a privacy choice. Their precise names, lifetimes, and purposes depend on the platform and enabled features. They are distinguished from technologies used primarily for advertising or optional audience analysis.

Where the law permits necessary storage without prior consent, that does not authorize unrelated uses of the same information. A technology should be assessed by its actual purpose and behavior. We do not use a general description of necessity to describe optional marketing features.

5. Preferences and functional features

A preference technology may remember a selection you make, such as language or a privacy setting. Some preferences can be held only in the current page session, while others may be stored for later visits. The custom visual effects and service lists do not require a cross-site identifier to remember which item you opened.

If a future feature needs persistent storage, its purpose and controls should be disclosed before that feature is introduced. Refusing an optional preference may mean that a choice must be entered again, but should not be represented as permission for unrelated tracking.

6. Analytics and marketing

No optional analytics or marketing tools are added by the supplied custom website sections. If the storefront owner enables such tools through Shopify, an app, or another integration, the applicable notice and consent controls must reflect their actual operation. This policy is not authorization to activate a tool that requires a separate permission.

Where consent is legally required for non-essential technologies, they should not be activated before the relevant consent is obtained. Where an applicable law provides an opt-out instead, a suitable control should be available. Changes to the storefront configuration require corresponding review of these disclosures.

7. Privacy controls on the live site

If Shopify or a configured service displays a cookie banner or privacy panel, use that control to review the choices it actually offers. Consent can be managed for the categories and services covered by the control. Closing a panel or continuing to browse should not be treated as agreement where the law requires an affirmative choice.

The custom sections do not add a second banner that pretends to manage tools outside their control. If an optional service is later connected, its control must be integrated appropriately with the storefront rather than relying on a decorative acceptance button.

8. Browser settings and storage removal

Most browsers let you inspect stored site data, delete cookies, block some or all cookies, or limit third-party storage. The location and effect of these settings vary by browser and device. Clearing site data can remove saved choices and may cause a privacy prompt to appear again.

Blocking every cookie can affect platform features that depend on an essential session. A private browsing window may limit retention after the window closes, but does not make browsing invisible to network operators or eliminate the technical information needed to deliver a website.

9. Duration and recipients

Some cookies last only for a browser session; others persist until an expiry date or until you delete them. The custom sections do not maintain a persistent tracking identifier. Any cookie set by Shopify or a connected service has a duration and recipient determined by that actual implementation.

We do not publish a fabricated inventory of cookie names or promise fixed lifetimes that have not been verified on the live storefront. If you need information about a technology you observe, send its name and the relevant page to the contact below without sharing an account password or authentication token.

10. Signals and regional requirements

Some browsers send privacy preference signals, and some jurisdictions require particular signals or choices to be honored by covered businesses. Applicability depends on the law, the processing activity, and the storefront configuration. The custom sections do not sell personal information or add targeted advertising, but hosting and merchant integrations still require their own assessment.

We do not claim that every possible browser signal is recognized by every provider. Where a legal obligation applies, the relevant storefront setting or service must be configured to honor it. The Privacy Policy explains how to ask about personal information actually received by Morsden Academy.

11. Keeping this policy accurate

Cookie practices can change when an application, embedded media service, checkout feature, analytics tool, or theme setting changes. Such changes should be reviewed before publication, and optional technologies should be subject to the controls required for their purposes and audience. A change in visual design alone does not justify adding tracking.

The date above identifies the current policy version. This document describes the custom experience and the possible role of Shopify infrastructure; it does not replace a live audit of merchant-added tools. Visitors may request clarification about a feature or a stored item they encounter.
